After more than five hours of questioning by Pesaro prosecutor Maria Letizia Fucci , former mayor of Pesaro Matteo Ricci , MEP and candidate for regional president, left the Guardia di Finanza barracks by car, surrounded by reporters and photographers. "I reiterated my complete lack of involvement in the facts," he added, "and indeed, I contributed further to ascertaining the truth."

Ricci, after five hours at the prosecutors' offices, said: "I'm not involved in the facts. I've told them everything I know. I'm going back to campaigning."

The Democratic Party representative at the center of the storm thanked the magistrates "for their work, and I feel very calm and determined. Now I'm going back to what I've always done: campaigning among the people and for the people. Thank you so much." Then Ricci got back into his car and drove away.
